Using Powershell to manage the release of new features and tools

Updated: Apr 29, 2021

We have been using PowerShell to update our teams policies and are now exploring the automatic creation of teams to link with our MIS and Moodle VLE.

We have found using Powershell extremely useful. It enables us to release new features in a managed way to ensure these have been fully tested and that support documentation has been created. This has been particularly useful for enabling the Quality & Innovation team to test new features such as breakout rooms, before being released to staff.

Although it meant staff had to wait a week to get the breakout rooms feature once released by Microsoft, it enabled us to develop training guides and ensure we were readily prepared to help staff who required support.

If you are a school/college/university and need help managing policies using Powershell, we are still learning but happy to share. Please get in contact.
